Every year, the Blessed Sacrament Boosters sponsor the “Just a Nice Kid Award” scholarship, which is awarded at the 8th grade graduation ceremony to the boy and girl who best exemplify the values of our organization.
This award has a long tradition of honoring those who excel academically while participating in Boosters-sponsored sports programs. The recipients are individuals who exhibit excellent virtues such as: integrity, effort, and work ethic, both on and off the field. These students exhibit the importance of sportsmanship in life. They know how to channel their competitive spirit in a positive way that “builds up” the team and its individuals. They are a positive influence to their peers, coaches, and opponents. These students apply for the award and must have a written recommendation from a previous or present coach. Their award selection must be approved by their teachers and the Boosters.
As an honoree of the award, the Boosters contribute $1,000 towards the tuition of the Diocesan catholic high school of the honoree’s choice.
